End of Year School Mass Celebration
Wednesday, 16th July 2025
On Wednesday morning, the entire school community gathered at our parish church, St Mary’s, Our Lady of Reparation, to celebrate our End of Year School Mass. Fittingly, the celebration took place on the Marian feast day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, adding special significance to the occasion.
Fr James, our celebrant, wore beautiful Marian blue vestments in honour of the day, reflecting the deep devotion to Mary that this feast inspires.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel is one of the many titles of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. The title originates from Mount Carmel in the Holy Land, where Christian hermits lived in prayer and devotion to God many centuries ago. These early hermits eventually formed the Carmelite Order, choosing Mary as their spiritual patron and protector.
This feast reminds us that Mary is always near, especially when we pray and strive to live good and faithful lives. It encourages us to become people of prayer, kindness, and faith, following Mary’s example.
During the offertory procession, our student altar servers presented flowers in honour of Our Lady, thanking her for watching over us throughout the school year.
The Mass was a special opportunity for the school to come together in thanksgiving for the many blessings of this past academic year and to celebrate all we have achieved.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this special celebration, especially our dedicated altar servers, who served with reverence, and our wonderful school choir, who led the singing of hymns so beautifully throughout the service. Of course, we also offer our sincere thanks to Fr James for celebrating this special Mass with us.
